NDIS CLEANING SERVICES: WHAT’S INCLUDED AND WHAT’S NOT?

Cleaning support through the NDIS helps participants maintain a safe and healthy living environment — but it’s important to know what’s actually covered.

✅ What’s Usually Included:

NDIS cleaning services are typically funded under Core Supports and may include:

• Vacuuming, mopping, dusting
• Cleaning bathrooms and kitchens
• Laundry help (washing, drying, folding)
• Rubbish removal
• General tidying of living areas

These supports must be disability-related and necessary for daily living.

❌ What’s Not Included:

Some tasks fall outside NDIS funding, such as:

• Deep or spring cleaning
• Yard/garden maintenance
• Pest control or mould removal
• Cleaning after parties or non-essential events
• Shared or non-participant areas in group homes

To get cleaning included in your plan, explain how your disability affects your ability to manage household tasks, and request support through your plan manager or support coordinator.
